PS5 consoles are reportedly selling out in China thanks to Black Myth: Wukong.
Publishing and gaming consultant Daniel Camillo stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that PS5 stock is selling out in China. As per retailers at Huaqiangbei in Shenzhen, due to Black Myth: Wukong, PS5 stock has been “swept” away, and “the whole of Huaqiang North” might not have the console at the standard price. The console’s scarcity has led to scalpers and resellers joining the fray, increasing the price from 2,000 yuan to “3,000 yuan or even 4,000 yuan”.
Besides the PlayStation 5, Black Myth: Wukong has had a dream launch on Steam. At the time of writing, the game has hit an all-time peak of more than 2.4 million players on the platform. Moreover, it has become the most-played single-player game on Steam, surpassing the likes of Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077.
