In a new post on X, developer Game Science announced that Black Myth: Wukong has officially gone gold, meaning its development is now complete.
The team added that the game “will be released as scheduled,” and they are actively working on ” the final stages of experiencing, testing, and deploying the game.”
Further, Game Science revealed that a new trailer is coming on August 8, 2024. The anticipated trailer will premiere at 10 AM Beijing time, or 10 PM eastern time.
Black Myth: Wukong pre-orders are available now on PlayStation 5, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and WeGame. However, although Black Myth: Wukong went gold, its Xbox version still doesn’t have a concrete release date.
Game Science first announced the Xbox delay in June 2024. According to the pre-order FAQ page, the developers are still “optimizing the Xbox Series X|S version to meet our quality standards.”
As a result, the Xbox version will not be available at launch with the other platforms.
Game Science said that “we apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users.” The devs carefully say they will “announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards.”
Microsoft later offered a vague statement only hinting at the potential cause for Black Myth: Wukong’s delay on Xbox.
Black Myth: Wukong will release on PC and PlayStation 5 on August 20, 2024.
