There’s a plethora of practice modes available to Counter-Strike 2 players that want to hone their skills before jumping into a Premier skin. Whether you want to improve your aim, learn a smoke lineup, or master the spray transfer, there’s something for everyone and for all levels of CS2 players.
Here are some of the best CS2 practice modes available in the game and through the Steam Workshop.
Before you jump below, consider trying your luck on Clash.gg – you could turn your unwanted skins into something much more valuable (18+ only)
Fast Warmup
Fast Warmup is one of the better warmup workshop mods. The bot training range features all the customizable options you need for warming up against bots. But there’s also an AWP flick training game, a timed 50-kill training game, an AimLabs-like aim training game, and a spray trainer. Fast Warmup provides a little bit of everything in a nice, compact area.
To get the Fast Warmup, search Fast Warmup in the Steam Workshop and download the one from leander.
Map Guides
With the introduction of Train, CS2 also added the map guide feature. A map guide is a detailed walkthrough of all the useful smoke spots with instructions on how to throw them. Currently, there is only an “official” map guide for Train, but community members have been working hard to create makeshift guides for other maps.
To access these guides, hit Play, then go to the Practice tab, and select Competitive. Under the Options list on the left, make sure Grenade Camera and Infinite Warmup are on. Then click Visit Workshop. This will open the Steam Workshop with the Map Guide filters already on. After you download a Workshop mod for a specific map, the Use Map Guide option will be available to turn on.
With these map guides, you’ll be able to master the most useful smokes across all the maps.
Aim Courses
Aim Courses are rapidly rising in popularity amongst CS2 players. These workshop mods effectively serve as a walkthrough warmup for players, challenging them to clear out bots from common hiding spots on each map. Most map aim courses are split into stages, requiring you to take down each bot in the stage before moving on to a new area.
Search for “Aim Course” in the CS2 section of the Steam Workshop, but you can also find many of them in the “Most Popular” section.
