If you have played a Warzone match on Verdansk, you have likely been taken down by a CR-56 AMAX. To fight back, here is the best possible loadout for the AR to get a leg up on the rest of the competition.
In addition to Warzone’s original map, Verdansk, making a long-awaited return, Treyarch also brought back a few iconic weapons from Modern Warfare 2019.
The Kilo 141 and HDR are back and better than ever and are top choices in the current meta. And it wouldn’t be Verdansk without the CR-56 AMAX, which has also returned.
Best CR-56 AMAX Meta Loadout Attachments in Warzone Verdansk

It’s easy to argue that the CR-56 AMAX is one of the best, if not the best, weapons in Warzone. According to TrueGameData, compared to the AK-74 and Kilo 141, the CR-56 AMAX has a time-to-kill speed of 570 milliseconds, which is only slightly slower than the AK-74, which clocks in at 552 milliseconds.
Treyarch briefly described the weapon: “Combining high-damage hits with a fast fire rate and good handling, the CR-56 AMAX is the perfect mid-range weapon for downing targets fast. Eliminate enemies in three to four shots up to 25 meters out, leaving plenty left over to chew through equipped armor.”
After trying out the weapon for a few rounds, the devs were right about it being the perfect mid-range weapon, and it’s even better with these attachments.
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- UnderBarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Magazine: Extended Mag II
- Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
Best CR-56 AMAX Secondary Weapon Meta Loadout in Warzone Verdansk

Despite being more impactful in medium-range gunfights, the CR-56 AMAX is more than capable of holding its own in short-range engagements as well.
With that in mind, I recommend using the AR as a sniper-support weapon and pairing it with the HDR. The sniper rifle can take down enemies with one headshot from any range, which is helpful on an open map like Verdansk.
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
- Stock: Combat Stock
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Fire Mods: 108MM Suppressed
Best Perks For CR-56 AMAX Meta Loadout in Warzone Verdansk
Scavenger, Tracker, and Alertness are the best trio of Perks in Season 3.
- Perk 1: Scavenger (Start equipped with maximum reserve ammo for your primary weapon. Resupply ammo equipment and plates from dead enemies)
- Perk 2: Tracker (See enemy footsteps. Bullets you fire briefly outline an enemy for you and your squad)
- Perk 3: Alertness (Sense enemies when enemies are nearby. Tell when you are being aimed at by the enemy)
Since armor plates are so hard to come by, Scavenger is a must-use Perk for every loadout because you can get more armor off dead enemies.
Meanwhile, losing enemies while chasing after them on Verdansk is easy, so Tracker allows you to see their recent footsteps. Also, hitting an enemy further away increases the time they are outlined. And even though Raven Software added new objects on the map to provide cover in open areas, there is always the danger of getting taken out by a one-shot sniper or an enemy with better positioning than you. Alertness alleviates this issue by pinging your screen when someone sees you.
Best CR-56 AMAX Wildcard in Warzone Verdansk Meta Loadout
Overkill is the best Wildcard to use. In Season 3, Raven Software removed the ability to purchase loadout weapons from the Buy Station. As a result, the only way to acquire loadout weapons is through loadout drops.
So, while having three extra attachments on a weapon with the Gunfighter Wildcard would be nice, we recommend using Overkill to give you a second primary weapon because acquiring one will otherwise be difficult.
How to Unlock CR-56 AMAX in Warzone
To unlock the CR-56 AMAX, all you have to do is complete Page 6 of the Season 3 Battle Pass. It’s an HVT, so you’ll first have to earn enough tokens to unlock the rest of the rewards on that page before spending one final token to get your hands on the weapon.
The good news is that it’s a free unlock, so you can still add it to your collection even if you don’t plan on buying the Battle Pass.
Activision doesn’t plan on stopping making Call of Duty feel like it initially did when the franchise was most popular. Activision revealed that there are talks to show more restraint with future skins, and Call of Duty 2025 will reportedly launch with six fully-fledged Zombies maps.
