The very first boss in Enotria: The Last Song, The Force of Change, is meant as a tutorial boss. It’s designed to allow you to put your learned moves into action and unlock your first Mask and Loadout. But it’s a tough fight. You’re still learning the game’s mechanics, and he’s an unrelenting boss. Here’s how to beat The Force of Change in Enotria: The Last Song!
How to Defeat The Force of Change
As mentioned, you’ll find the game’s tutorial boss, The Force of Change, unrelenting. He moves swiftly, closing the distance between you in a split-second, and when he attacks, it’s a flurry of swings, swipes, and ground-pound attacks that leave little room for reaction. You must dodge repeatedly, not just once, to avoid his reach. But it’s often not enough. You’ll find that Enotria’s i-frames are lacking significantly in the face of, say, Elden Ring.
The Force of Change wields multiple combos that deal significant damage if you wind up hit and staggered. One of his first attacks, a downward slice, moves with uncanny ability. He can twist mid-attack, so you’ll want to dodge backward twice to avoid his range. The same goes for forward slash attacks. You can’t really dodge to the side, as he’ll twist and turn to ambush your new position. It’s best to dodge backward, away from his attacks, then push forward when you have an opening to hit him repeatedly. Rinse and repeat.
If only it were that easy, though. When The Force of Change swipes the ground in an upheaval-like move, dodge forward toward him instead of away or to the side. If you do either of the latter movements, you’ll wind up either too far away to deal any damage before his following combo, or you’ll take damage. But if you time it appropriately, you can move inside his area of effect and land a few strikes while he recuperates.
This fight is a mixed bag. While you can learn his moveset, The Force of Change is seemingly capable of canceling moves mid-attack or changing direction entirely.
