The nominations for this year’s BAFTA Games Awards ceremony are out, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Astro Bot lead the way. The former title has a whopping 11 nominations, while Astro Bot trails slightly behind with eight. Still Wakes the Deep, a psychological horror title released in June 2024, has also secured eight nominations.
It’s a stacked deck that features more than 40 nominated games, representing a diverse and dynamic assortment of titles. Check out the full details below.
Nominations Galore
The 2025 BAFTA Games Awards will take place on April 8. It’s the 21st iteration of the showcase, and it’s one of the most prestigious ceremonies in gaming.
In a recent press release, the CEO of BAFTA, Jane Millichip, said:
Today’s list of 41 nominated games is full of fresh, bold and fantastically varied genres – cinematic blockbusters, narrative-led adventures, online multiplayers and family games.
Our nominations are a fantastic way for players to discover games they might never otherwise consider. We look forward to celebrating the best of the best at the 21st BAFTA Games Awards on 8 April. Hellblade II has secured the most nominations, with a staggering 11 awards sitting within reach. Balatro, our top indie game of 2024, has four nominations lined up, as does Black Ops 6. Black Myth: Wukong, the superstar action title that was released in August and sold millions of copies, has six nominations – and there are five for Helldivers II.
The BAFTA team confirmed that 11 of the 13 nominated for their performances in a video game have been nominated for the first time, and they represent an immensely varied palette of titles.
From Luke Roberts (Silent Hill 2) to Matt Berry (Thank Goodnws You’re Here!), and from Melina Juergens (Hellblade II) to Humberly Gonzalez (Star Wars Outlaws), plenty of talented performers will attend the upcoming showcase in London.
