Today, Ubisoft released a sizeable update for Assassin’s Creed Mirage that features a long-awaited addition. For the players that relish a challenge, there’s a new and difficult task presented in the form of the ‘Full Synchronisation Challenge’, a super-tough, permadeath mode with plenty of caveats and special clauses.
It was supposed to drop in December but was pushed back by the developer – but it’s better late than never.
Ready to Permadie
The Full Synchronisation Challenge is one of the toughest tasks any Assassin’s Creed fan will ever have to overcome. Once activated, the player must embark on a dangerous (but potentially epic) journey throughout the entire game, and anything from a single death to killing civilians (which traditionally causes ‘desynchronisation’) will instantly end the game.
When Basim desynchronises from the animus, instead of the usual desynchronised reload screen, a new display appears showing statistics of gameplay time, total amount of conflicts, cause of the death, number of enemies killed, assassin rank and difficulty chosen to play.

It might be an inherently challenging mode, but you can soften the blow by playing out the Full Synchronisation Challenge on the game’s easiest difficulty. There are more rewards for playing at a tougher tier, though.
The update featuring permadeath mode is available to download in Assassin’s Creed Mirage for free right now.
