Asmongold Steps Back From OTK and Starforge As He Admits His Life is ‘In Shambles’

Asmongold recently uploaded a lengthy apology video following controversial comments made about the Palestinian people during a Twitch stream. Following his tirade, during which he labelled Palestinians as ‘terrible people’ and ‘inferior’, he earned himself a temporary ban on Twitch, but it seems that has been something of a wake-up call for the creator.

In his video, he revealed he’s cutting down the amount of time he spends streaming. He also confirmed he’s stepping back from leadership positions at both OTK and Starforge.

Winding Down

Zack ‘Asmongold’ Hoyt has seen his fair share of scandals over the years, but this latest escapade takes the prize. His recent racist rant earned him the backlash of a global community, and he has recognised in this latest video that he might have hit an all-time low.

I need to get myself in check. I need to get my mind under control. I need to fix my fucking life. It’s insane. I think about it – it’s just in shambles. Everything about my life is basically fucked.

I’m going to step away from my leadership position at OTK and Starforge and everything. They’re fine with that – they respect that, and I want to do this. I want to do this not only for them but mainly for myself so I can be a better version of myself.

He then went deep on his apology, explaining that he has ‘read a lot of very bad things about Islam’ and has always cast an ill light on the religion because of that. With that in mind, the 34-year-old creator plans to visit the Middle East to witness Islam first-hand. It was also mentioned that as a punishment, he’s going to clean his home without a cleaning company to back him up.

If you know how Asmongold lives, then you understand how immense a task that will be.

Stepping back from leadership positions at OTK, a streaming organisation, and Starforge, a custom PC company, is just the start.

Going forward, Hoyt plans to make big changes to his content:

My plan is to, when I get unbanned, I’ll keep streaming regularly, and I want to focus more on trying to do things that are fun, trying to laugh more with people rather than at people. It’s about a focus, and it’s about a tone. I listened to my tone in that clip and I just sounded like such a piece of shit.

I don’t want to be that person anymore.

Do you accept Asmongold’s apology, or do you think he’s going to slip back into his old ways as soon as he’s back? Let us know in the comments.

  • Hasan has done worse but they’ve never done anything like this to him? He supports genocide, he’s racist, and he spreads dangerous misinformation I swear YouTube and Twitch are full of it and Asmongold just showed how weak he really is he would have been fine. I don’t know what set this off something had to happen on his business end to seriously effect him. Maybe if Hasan’s parents and uncle get exposed he does the same?

  • SMH bro just took a massive L he showed he can’t handle this right. Look at NickMercs or even Doc. Doc did wayyyy worse and he’s still doing fine Asmon woul have been fine if he did that and funny thing he knows this he watches and comments on these situations all the time but when it’s him he fumbles so bad it’s just so confusing? He easily could have been fine instead of bending over like this he should have stood his ground. He should have had discussions with Kick and Rumble as soon as this happened he would have gotten paid to stream elsewhere even non exclusive until the ban was gone.

  • It’s not about “bending the knee.” It’s about being a man and owning your shit. We all can be better people and do a better job at checking ourselves because when we don’t, we tend to do and say some ignorant, stupid shit. He owned his shit, realized that what his friends were telling him was right on the money, and he faced with a crossroads of either getting his shit in order or going further off the ledge. We all would do better to take some time to reflect and see how we can better ourselves, but unfortunately we end up doing so after we’ve done something stupid or hurtful.

  • Hold everyone to the same standards Hasan literally promotes genocide of the other side and Asmon didn’t even say it like that he called out the radical activists protesting what they don’t even know for. YouTube and Twitch need to hold everyone to the same standard there’s people doing much worse than this on those platforms like actual racism, promotion of violence, dangerous misinformation, sex, promotion of drugs, doxxing, abuse of kids and animals, actual islamophobia, nothing is done about it they let them continue I don’t know if it’s because of politics since the people doing it are Democrats but think that makes it ok?

  • He’s full of shit he doesn’t regret anything he’s said or done he’s just mad he got caught. No one just goes on rants supporting genocide unless they actually support genocide. This man has no heart or soul and thinks people who don’t think, look, or act like him deserve to be killed

  • I think Zack is really on a dangerous path, he needs to chill, take a break, get his shit together, cause to be honest, I’ve been watching him, respected him, and supported him for many years. But in the past few years, I swear, this man, is so misinformed and lacks a lot of cultural knowledge, yet is debating most of this on a regular basis. It wasn’t about “If”, but “When” he will fuck. He is a really smart dude, has a good logic, but when pieces are missing, all mentioned before, is useless. I used to be a cunt myself when I was younger. But at some point, I’ve put my thoughts on a stop, and traveled to see with my own eyes, if things are the way I think they are. Planned to live in the middle east for 2-3 months, ended up living there for 5 years, traveled most of the countries around the Emirates, even spent some time in Iran, just to learn and be educated, in the places and among the people I misjudged so much. Being there, I realized how media is such dangerous tool if you lean your ears to it. The first thing I did when I got back home (EU that is, and btw I am not a believer, but have respected other’s religion/opinions/ways of life, I was raised that way), I basically threw my TV in the dumpster. I prefer to check the information directly from the source if possible, before I make a remark. If Zack is going to travel as he said he will, I wish him best of luck, and hope he realizes how wrong he is (as I was too) and come back as a greater person. He needs this so bad! For now, I can’t say he did right, nor will ever agree with his doing. But then again, everyone needs a second chance.

  • Kamala Harris just said justice was served on the nuking of these people she’s a politician in power running for office yet none of the same backlash towards her? He criticized people in the west protesting for these people but not understanding their values and going to extremes to protest she outright called murder “justice” I hope all of you are harder on her than him! Hasan better not avoid it or switch up he better call her out!
