AMD Delays Ryzen 9000 Series CPUs Until August

AMD has announced that its next-gen Ryzen 9000 series CPUs have been delayed until August. The news comes just days before it was set to release to consumers amid reports that reviews had yet to receive their processors.

In a statement posted by AMD, the company says that initial units “did not meet our full quality expectations” during final checks. This led to the decision to delay until next month.

“Out of an abundance of caution and to maintain the highest quality experiences for every Ryzen user, we are working with our channel partners to replace the initial production units with fresh units,” the company said.

With fixes needed, AMD has announced that the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X processors will now release on August 8. The higher-end Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X CPUs will go on sale starting August 15.

“We pride ourselves in providing a high-quality experience for every Ryzen user, and we look forward to our fans having a great experience with the new Ryzen 9000 series,” they said.
