Alan Wake 2 PS5 Pro Enhanced features have been revealed, and the “main new feature” is ray-tracing.
The PS5 Pro Enhanced version of Alan Wake 2 will receive an upgraded version of the Quality and Performance modes. Both modes will use Sony’s new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution or PSSR upscaling technology to provide better clarity and detail.
Quality
Starting with Alan Wake 2’s Quality Mode on the PS5 Pro, players can expect features such as 30 fps with ray tracing and ray-traced reflections (opaque and transparent). The output resolution in Quality mode will be 4K (3840 x 2160), whereas the render resolution will be 2176×1224. Ray Tracing wasn’t available on the standard PS5 version of the game.
Performance
In the PS5 Pro Performance Mode, players can expect better output resolution and details than the standard PS5. Moreover, the Performance Mode on the PS5 Pro will provide “approximately the same image quality (render) settings as the base PS5’s Quality mode.” Players can expect 60 fps when using this mode, with an output resolution of 4K (3840 x 2160) and a render resolution of 1536 x 864.
Players should know that the standard PS5 Performance Mode outputs 1440p and runs at lower render (image quality) settings . Check out the blog post to learn more details.
