Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a phenomenal Hideout mechanic that allows you to build the settlement of your dreams. You can add and customise buildings, plants, monuments, pathways, and even pets. However, it’s not immediately obvious how to add pets to your Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, so I’m here to tell you how.
Read on to learn about adding pets to your Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and how to unlock more.
What Pets Can You Get In Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Pets are added to your Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows through the build menu, but that menu starts with a blank slate and nothing available to add.
With that being said, how do you add pets to the Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Most commonly, you’ll unlock more pets for your Hideout by interacting with animals in the game’s open world. As you pet cats and dogs, you’ll unlock them in the build menu, and you can add them to the Hideout as you see fit.
It doesn’t end there, though.
There are unique animals that you’ll come across on your journey, such as the surviving dog of a former samurai, and they can only be found and added to the Hideout once.
Pets can also be unlocked by searching crates, completing challenges, and solving missions. This is typically how you’ll unlock more exotic animals like monkeys, raccoons, foxes, and deer.
Can You Kill Animals in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Animals in Assassin’s Creed Shadows can’t be killed in the wild as Naoe or Yasuke. It’s not known why this is, but attempting to trample a small animal on your horse or shoot a larger animal with Yasuke’s bow will yield no results.
No constructs or crafting blueprints in Assassin’s Creed Shadows require animal parts, so there’s no reason to kill them.
It’s much more peaceful this way.
