Fortnite is still in the midst of Chapter 7, Season 2, but major changes are coming to various game modes in the April 16 update, which has left Fortnite servers unavailable for a period of time.
Epic Games deploys Fortnite updates every two weeks on average, and, following on from the April Fool’s update, a fresh version of the game is being deployed today.
If you’re itching for your Fortnite fix and want to know when the servers will be available again, Insider Gaming has all the details.
When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up?

Fortnite servers are down for several hours for the April 16 update, although the exact time they will return has not been confirmed by Epic Games.
Downtime on April 16, which marks the start of a new Fortnite Festival Season and marks the end of Fortnite Ballistic and Festival Battle Stage, begins at 2 AM ET. While the exact length of downtime has not been shared, previous experience provides an expected time frame.

For mid-season updates, downtime is not as long as the seasonal transitions, like the move to a new Chapter, and, instead, downtime lasts for around three to four hours on average.
Using that metric, the Fortnite servers should be back up around 4 AM to 5 AM ET on April 16, although this is subject to change, particularly if any issues are discovered while the patch is deployed.
