Another Pokémon release has arrived with the global launch of Pokémon Champions, adding even more to what has been a packed schedule for fans of the franchise in 2026.
Fresh off the back of the re-release of Fire Red and Leaf Green, alongside the record-breaking launch of Pokopia, Pokémon Champions arrives to significantly shake up the competitive scene, and its connection to Pokémon Home allows you to transfer Pokémon you have encountered across various generations of games.
Setting up a connection can be confusing, however, particularly if you encounter the message from within Pokémon Champions, but Insider Gaming has all the details you need.
How to Connect Pokémon Champions to Pokémon Home
Before you can move Pokémon from Pokémon Home and other games to Pokémon Champions, you must connect your accounts in both titles.
Unfortunately, this cannot be done directly from within Pokémon Champions, and if you attempt to move Pokémon over, a pop-up will inform you that a Pokémon Home account needs to be connected.

Fortunately, the process doesn’t take too long, although the restrictions on transferring Pokémon and being unable to do it from within Pokémon Champions do create some potential headaches.
Follow these steps to connect your Pokémon Home and Pokémon Champions account.
- On your Nintendo Switch console, close Pokémon Champions and open Pokémon Home.
- Sign in to your account.
- Once logged in, select the Pokémon Champions icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Confirm the Pokémon Champions account shown is correct.
- Congratulations, your Pokémon Champions and Pokémon Home account is now connected.
However, this isn’t the end of the process entirely, as you still need to select specific Pokémon to transfer from Home into Champions.
How to Transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Home to Pokémon Champions
You cannot transfer Pokémon from Home to Pokémon Champions from within Champions, and instead must select the Pokémon you want to ‘visit’ the game from within Pokémon Home.
While this does add an extra step to the process, it’s not too complicated and should only take a few extra minutes. All the steps are outlined below.
- Open Pokémon Home and sign in to your account.
- Select the Pokémon Champions icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Choose the Pokémon you want to be available in Pokémon Champions.
- Confirm your selections.
- Exit Pokémon Home.
- Sign in to Pokémon Champions.
- Select the Recruit option on the main menu.
- Choose the option for transferring Pokémon from Pokémon Home.
- Select the Pokémon you want to ‘visit’ from Pokémon Home.
- Confirm your selection.
