PUBG: Black Budget Closed Alpha Test—Start Date & How to Sign-Up

A new extraction shooter is bursting onto the scene with PUBG: Black Budget, and the first opportunity to play the game takes place in the upcoming closed alpha test.

PUBG: Black Budget has been officially revealed, following extensive speculation, and the doors will open to players to try out the game during two weekends of closed alpha sessions in December. However, as the name suggests, it won’t be available to everyone, and only select players will be eligible.

When is The PUBG: Black Budget Closed Alpha Test?

The closed alpha test for PUBG: Black Budget is spread across two weekends in December, the first beginning on Friday, December 12 at 1 AM PT.

PUBG: Black Budget’s first weekend in the alpha comes to an end at 23:59 PT on Sunday, December 14, which leads into a week of waiting until the servers return.

The second weekend for the closed alpha begins on Friday, December 19, at 1 AM PT, running until Sunday, December 21, at 23:59 PT.

For this closed alpha test, participants must be located in North America, Europe, or Asia. Language support for the tests is English, Korean, Chinese, and Russian.

How to Sign Up to The PUBG: Black Budget Closed Alpha Test

Sign-ups for the closed alpha test of PUBG: Black Budget are restricted to Steam, with no other way to participate, and applications are now open.

Once the closed alpha is underway, additional keys for participation will be distributed through Twitch and Chzzk Drops, but these will be limited and are expected to run out quickly.

While there’s no guarantee that submitting a request to participate in the closed beta will be successful, the steps to follow are outlined below.

  1. Head to the PUBG: Black Budget page on Steam.
  2. Sign in to your Steam account.
  3. Select the ‘Request Access’ button on the page.
  4. Reconfirm you want to request access on the pop-up that appears.
  5. Wait to see if your application has been successful.
