Need to evolve your Haunter into Gengar in Pokémon Legends: Z-A? These ghost Pokémon have been around since the original games on the Game Boy, and all this time later, people still love them.
Gengar has always been a reliable creature to have in your party; some prefer it even over the great Charizard, so even when you fill up its spot in your Pokédex, you should consider holding onto the powerful ghost Pokémon.
Here is how to evolve Haunter in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
How to Get Gengar in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

The only way to evolve a Haunter into Gengar in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is to receive a Haunter in a trade from someone.
Before you do that, though, you should find the original form of these Pokémon, Gastly. This creature appears in Wild Zone 4, in the northern portions of Lumiose City. While in the past it has preferred to only appear at nighttime, you can actually find Gastly appearing here at all times of the day.
After you catch a Gastly, raise it to level 25 so that it can evolve into Haunter. From there, find a friend you can trust that you can trade your Haunter to. To make things fair, have them trade one of the special trade evolution Pokémon as well, so that they can also benefit. When done, swap back and enjoy your new Gengar.
It is disappointing to see that you have to rely on a friend to get one of the more popular Pokémon in the game. In recently released games, Pokémon Legends: Arceus had special items to evolve Haunter, but that has been removed in Z-A. Scarlet and Violet also had an NPC who would trade you a Haunter, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.
Is Gengar Good in Pokémon Legends: Z-A?
Yes, Gengar can be a good addition to your team in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
As a ghost, it is immune to normal and fighting moves and has always had a very good special attack stat. Combine that with its speed, and you have a hard-hitting menace. However, it is a bit of a glass cannon, and can fall in battle quite quickly to other heavy hitters if it doesn’t strike first. If you can put the enemy to sleep or poison them, you really set Gengar up for success.
Gengar is a Dark and Ghost type, so it is weak against Ghost, Dark, Ground, and Psychic attacks.
