Sonic Racing Crossworld Arrives This September
Described as “the biggest Sonic racing game ever”, Sonic Racing Crossworld releases on September 25, 2025. The upcoming title will feature a massive roster of characters and tracks, inspired by the Sonic universe and other franchises. Sonic Racing Crossworld showcased four big names as upcoming characters for the title: Hatsune Miku, Ichiban Kasuga from the Yakuza series and Joker from the Persona series.
The Summer Game Fest panel for Sonic Racing Crossworld also brought on Takashi Iizuka to provide more details about the upcoming racing title. Iizuka described Sonic Racing Crossworld as “the next generation” in the Sonic racing series, which the Sonic and SEGA Arcade Racing teams developed. Iizuka also spoke about a new feature, which allows players to warp through golden rings and progress further in the racing title.
Before leaving the stage, Iizuka also fired shots at Mario Kart, stating, “unlike another cart racing game”, Sonic Racing Crossworld will have online cross-platform matchmaking. A Minecraft collaboration was also confirmed for Sonic Racing Crossworld, featuring Steve and Mobs in different carts, racing across tracks inspired by the Minecraft universe.
