5 key facts about Modo.us Casino
Let’s start with some basics you should keep in mind as we look for some sites like Modo.us here. These are the main highlights we noted when we recently visited and played at Modo.us.
- 20k Gold Coins (GCs) and 1 Sweeps Coin (SC) welcome bonus
- Top 10 social game list
- Live dealer area
- Daily Hunt with Gold Coin jackpots
- Daily tournaments available
What does Modo.us get right?
Modo.us is an impressive sweepstakes casino – very glossy and professional in appearance, with plenty of casino-style games you can view before you join the site. It also looks appealing on smartphones, tablets, and computers.
If you already play there, you’ll be familiar with some of the best features Modo.us Casino offers. We’ll start with these before covering some of the less impressive aspects of the site.
New players receive plenty of Gold Coins to start with
Newcomers get 20,000 Gold Coins when signing up at Modo.us, along with one Sweeps Coin. We always advocate playing social games using Gold Coins before doing anything else. With 20k GCs to use to begin with, you won’t run out of those anytime soon.
Daily Hunts and Tournaments included
We often find it difficult to spot anything other than regular casino-style gameplay on offer at some sweepstakes casinos. That’s still entertaining, for sure, but Modo.us has provided us with some different options as well:
- Modo Daily Hunt – Gold Coin jackpots that drop within a certain time
- Daily Tournaments – you can participate in these each day, with each tournament based on a different title
They offer several VIP ranks to climb
These go from Steel to Cosmic Diamond. If you’ve checked out some other sweepstakes casinos, you’ll know that you can’t rely on finding a VIP club at any of them.
So, it’s good to see one at Modo.us, involving plenty of potential bonuses and perks like these:
- Live chat support
- Birthday bonus
- Rank rewards
- Milestone rewards
You won’t get access to all the perks at the lower levels of the program, but they soon start mounting up as you collect enough points to progress towards the next level. We noticed that some perks increased in size as we reached new levels, too. For instance, they have a few Click & Claim rewards that go up in size in this manner.
What could Modo.us improve on?
Most sweepstakes casinos could make a few changes – if only tiny ones – to provide us with a better overall experience. While Modo.us is entertaining and welcoming, we did note a few niggles that we think they could improve on if given a little attention.
The lobby menu could be easier to view
You can’t view the social gaming categories all in one go. Even on a computer, we had to scroll from side to side to see everything. That made it harder to remember where specific categories were, so it took longer to find some of our favorites. We’d prefer a dropdown menu.
They could add more table games
We know some sweepstakes casinos don’t offer any, so at least Modo.us does manage to give us a few to consider playing. However, aside from a couple of poker variants and a First Person Dream Catcher option, the rest is down to a mix of blackjack and roulette options to choose from. We didn’t find any baccarat titles to check out, for example.
They’ve only got a limited series of original titles
We found Dice, Plinko, and Limbo among the six available options at the time of writing this guide. However, fans of Crash titles won’t find anything to try at Modo.us Casino at present. That’s a shame, as we know plenty of players enjoy Crash social games more than many others.
Here are our top 5 sites like Modo.us Casino
Even if you enjoy playing casino-style games at Modo.us, you could eventually run short of Gold Coins to play with. If you’re waiting for your next daily login bonus there, you might want to check out these alternatives. You might want to sign up at one of these sites to get some more social gaming in.
Lonestar: offers a giant welcome
You can’t go wrong with 100,000 Gold Coins when you sign up to join other players at Lonestar Casino – and you’ll get 2 Sweeps Coins as well. Look forward to a sensible menu to the left of the site, with all the social games listed on the main page.
That’s where you’ll find the current most popular titles to try, along with plenty of categories such as Spin & Win and Hold & Win. It ranks alongside Modo.us in the category stakes, for sure. That should help you narrow the options to find something you most want to play. Vegas Nights and Money Stacks are among our favorites to play at Lonestar.
Real Prize: another big welcome offer
Five times the size of the welcome package at Modo.us, you can pick up a Real Prize Casino offer of 100,000 GCs and 2 SCs when you join. You can then check out more than 700 casino-style games, including Mooncake Riches Hold & Win and even some live roulette.
If you’re in a legal state, you’ll need to be aged 18 or over to play there, rather than the minimum of 21 years at Modo.us. Just make sure your state doesn’t have any specific limitations on age before you sign up. While you can’t see as much at Real Prize before you join, when compared to Modo.us, you do get a sense of how popular it is among players, given the shared reviews there.
SpinQuest: includes live social games
Yes, you can count some real dealers among the possibilities at SpinQuest. The current welcome offer for new SpinQuest players is 100,000 Gold Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins, faring well when compared to most of our other recommendations here.
You can expect lots of titles to come from many providers, much the same as you’d see at Modo.us. Look out for casino-style games from Peter & Sons, ICONIC21, and Hacksaw Gaming, to name only three of many. Note Crazy Time and Monopoly Big Baller among the live titles, along with Le Bandit and Le Pharaoh from the popular series by Hacksaw Gaming.
Crown Coins Casino: seasonal titles to spot
You can grab the current Crown Coins Casino welcome offer over there, picking up 100,000 Crown Coins (used instead of Gold Coins) and 2 Sweeps Coins when you do so. They’ve provided players with a progressive daily login bonus as well. We got 5,000 Crown Coins on day one, rising to 100,000 CCs on day seven – assuming we hadn’t missed any days, which we made sure we didn’t. You’ll get some Sweeps Coins on select days, too.
As for the casino-style games collection, Crown Coins provides you with new releases, exclusives, and yes, plenty of slots as well. One feature we liked included some seasonal slots. Modo.us had a few titles for the Year of the Horse when we visited, but we’re unsure whether they’d mark other major events.
McLuck: check out their exclusives
We enjoy playing their exclusive titles, coming from names including Red Rake and Spinomenal. They provide the Triple Valentine and Trout’s Treasure Subzero Spins titles, respectively. You can pick up 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins when you join, too.
While McLuck offers several hundred slots to browse in various categories, you can also find other titles to play. They’ve joined other sites in offering social live casino-style games as well, including Quantum Roulette, 7 Seats Blackjack, and Fashion TV Mega Party. They’ve even got a VIP program, offering eight tiers to go through, which compares well with Modo.us’s program, too.
Check these aspects when visiting any sweepstakes casinos
When you’re looking for alternatives to Modo.us Casino, you want to be sure you pick the best and most trusted sites around today. Our mini reviews should help you compare those sites, but they should also meet the following criteria.
Clear instructions on site usage
Modo.us is a sweepstakes casino, which means it has two virtual currencies you can use:
- Gold Coins
- Sweeps Coins
If you’ve played there for a while, you’ll know the basics of those. You can use this info to help you find reputable sweepstakes casinos that follow the same guidelines. We’ve provided the information you should be able to find at all good sweepstakes casinos today in this table.
| Gold Coins | Sweeps Coins |
|---|---|
| You can only use these for casual gameplay | You can only use these for sweepstakes gameplay |
| You cannot win real prizes with Gold Coins | You can win Sweeps Coins while playing with them; you can then redeem Sweeps Coins winnings to receive a real prize according to Sweeps Rules |
| You can purchase GCs, but you don’t need to if you don’t want to | You cannot purchase Sweeps Coins at any point |
| You can collect GCs as part of your welcome bonus and via daily login bonuses | You can collect SCs as part of your welcome bonus, potentially via daily login bonuses, and via the Alternative Method of Entry if you mail a request to the site owners |
You should find an explanation about the sweepstakes rules and format available on whichever website you visit. If you don’t see any Sweeps Rules, steer well clear. Finally, if a site uses a different name for a virtual currency, this should be clear, too.
Age and state limitations
While you can usually access online sweepstakes casinos in many more states than real money casinos, they’re still not available everywhere. Some states, notably Washington, do not allow sweepstakes casinos. However, we’ve seen some variation in availability from one site to the next.
You should therefore check the terms and conditions and Sweeps Rules for individual sites, so you can check whether you’re able to play from your US state. Double check the age limitations too. Many sites allow players to join from the age of 18, but some have a 21+ limit in place – and we can include Modo.us in that category.
How do sites like Modo.us Casino stack up on the casino-style gaming front?
You can find over 1,000+ casino-style games to play at Modo.us. It’s difficult to get an exact number because they’ve got multiple categories available. They also regularly add new titles to the relevant area, making it harder to keep up an accurate total. Let’s see how they fare when compared to our alternative picks.
| Sweepstakes Casino | Social Game Availability | Example Slot Titles |
|---|---|---|
| McLuck | 700+ | Diamond Fortunator, Scarab Riches, Magic Apple 2 Hold & Win |
| SpinQuest | 1,000+ | 2 Wild 2 Die, Aztec Clusters, Donny Dough |
| Lonestar | 500+ | Jungle Spirit Megaways, Lock and Pop, Energy Coins Hold & Win |
| RealPrize | 700+ | Fire and Roses Joker, Panda’s Fortune, Raging Buffalo |
| Crown Coins Casino | 450+ | Joker’s Jewels Cash, Ultra Fruit Smash, Gems & Jesters |

Depending on how long you’ve been a member of Modo.us Casino, you might have collected the current welcome offer of 20,000 Gold Coins and 1 Sweeps Coin when you signed up. Is that reasonable compared to our other recommended sweepstakes casinos? You’ll find the answer in the below table.
| Sweepstakes Casino | Gold Coins in Welcome Bonus | Sweeps Coins in Welcome Bonus |
| McLuck | 7,500 | 2.5 |
| Lonestar | 100,000 | 2 |
| RealPrize | 100,000 | 2 |
| SpinQuest | 100,000 | 2 |
| Crown Coins Casino | 100,000 | 2 |
Does Modo.us have the best signup bonus?
Of our top five picks, only McLuck has a smaller welcome offer, with just 7,500 Gold Coins compared to 20,000 GCs at Modo.us. However, if you decide to register at McLuck Casino, you can expect to pick up 2.5 Sweeps Coins too. You only get 1 SC at Modo.us.
All the other sites far exceed the welcome offer at Modo.us, so it’s a question of which one offers the kind of casino-style games you’d like to play the most – and offers them from the largest range of developers.
