For me, there are several favourites for sure. Probably more than half of the entire series.
But there's a very, very select few that I value & means so much to me not only as a gamer but as person.
Though sometimes polarising, I ultimately believe the FF games always strive to give us a positive light on their stories with hope, that you can overcome things together & if you stick around long enough till the end you'll see that after that whole journey, it was worth it.
FINAL FANTASY IX
This masterpiece should be in the Louvre.
Its sense of wonder, character development, world-building, narrative twist & turns, depth of gameplay systems, complexity & content... I'd probably ran out of adjectives here just to honor such work of art.
It's quite simply the crowning achievement of Sony's first ever videogame console in my humble opinion.
To this day I remember the countless hours I've spent just exploring the city of Lindblum's nook & cranny, challenging every guy I can talk with in the Tetra Master card game (itself a game within the game, a deep gameplay feature most people forget FF popularized along with other mini-games), digging every freakin Chocobo chests in FOUR CONTINENTS (yes you read that right lol), mastering abilities from seemingly hundreds of weapons & accessories, etc. along with tons of other stuff the 4-disc PS1 game is jam-packed with.
In conclusion, I'll just simply say this; to those of us who've experienced FF9 already, if you know, you know
If you haven't yet?
Stop reading this.
Go get it & play.
Period.
Because yes it is THAT good.
SEIFER ALMASY (from FFVIII)
I couldn't be more obvious can I
Seriously though I just relate so much to the guy for various reasons like personality-wise & such like being passive-agrressive, stubborn, competitive, often times misunderstood etc.
He's not a bad guy obviously but he's just... Different. And difficult to get close with.
Also IMO has the best videogame weapon ever made his Gunblade the Hyperion (fight me lol)!
Share yours fellow FF fans!
Thanks!
