I have a clear Top 5 actually but only from the PS1 era till today because that's the time I started playing videogames & became a fan of the series.
As big of a fan I am though, I'm not sure just how many games in the franchise already including various spinoffs & collab games like say a Kingdom Hearts (which is IMO a legit FF game no matter what anyone says ok
!).
1. FINAL FANTASY IX - I've said this before & I'll say it again; this entry is the #1 peak FF... ever. The most complete JRPG experience of all time, Squaresoft's monumental crowning achievement, Sony PS1's game of the generation... Quite simply there ain't enough superlatives to describe it. A masterpiece well-deserved to be put into the vaults of Louvre to be preserved... Forever.
2. FINAL FANTASY XV - This has obviously had troubled development & polarising to fans, among many other issues, I get that, but for me none of that matters as long as I had so much fun with the game. Breathtaking open world, tons of content, cool characters, swords & magic effects, etc. The game just works. It's such a "so much to do, so little time" game. My ONLY issue? Why can't Square just put Aranea as a perma party member alright

3. EHRGEIZ - Dude this FFVII spinoff / extension game is a blast to play, singleplayer or multi. With so much content (it's got complete & long RPG mode) & tons of characters to master & get to know, it's a wonder why it's often forgotten somehow.
4. FINAL FANTASY VIII - Unofficially the first ever "Rom-Com JRPG". And yeah I just made that up & I could be wrong, but FF8 is just game that takes over your life... And lovelife
. That's it that's all I'm gonna say. Oh & yeah it's got Seifer, which you know, is on my profile pic so yeah... lol
5. DISSIDIA 012 FINAL FANTASY DUODECIM - Square started the multiverse craze before MCU & this just rocks so freakin much. Content that will last you several lifetimes, an unmatched roster, customization to your heart's content, tactical yet accessible combat, etc. it's the dream of any FF fan have imagine & more. Unfortunately some Square-Enix suits didn't get the memo; instead of a remake / remaster of this amazing game, they made a... Whatever "thing" NT is lol
