First Official Details on the Next Battlefield Game Revealed, Returns to Modern-Day Combat

I think the point of them announcing this early is to try and build this trust back up for the franchise. It makes sense, but if they can do it or not is anyone's guess.
What sort of likelihood are we talking for spectacular leap to a new-classic era of BF vs even more dissapointment after 2042? The series really seems defeated at this point.

I want to be excited about this but 2042 was such a crap show that I'm pretty skeptical. I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a battlefield game since battlefield 4. It really did feel like it was the last premium experience in a battlefield game personally.

I will say, I've thoroughly enjoyed most games Respawn has put out, from Titanfall, to Apex, to the Jedi games. Vince being in charge of the new battlefield definitely gave me some excitement and hopefully he can lead the development into something great. It seems like he understands what era of battlefield the fans truly enjoyed the most and why, so hopefully they can make something good. BF2042 was what made me stop preordering anything.

Vince is a veteran and gives hopes for the future of the franchise

Beforehand, I really didn't care.. BUT

The fact that Vince Zampella is on the team changes everything for me. I think that that guy knows his stuff. If this BF fails again it would be the first miss in his career.
Yeah, when they announced, he was getting involved a few months after BF 2042 flopped was comforting. Still, there's a great need to be cautious. EA tapped him for this because he's a well-respected developer who is both good at his job and can reinforce a lot of the "sexy" PR talking points.

I need to see some actual gameplay and experience it myself through a beta before buying into the idea that Battlefield is "back."

agreed - but I think there's a real will to make it work from Dice and goodwill on the fan side thanks to positive past experiences pre-BF5; let's see but I'm cautiously optimisitic as most are

Battlefield 2042 was so hyped up. That’s the only reason I know anything about Tom Henderson to be honest.. he definitely had the inside scoop and after launch I looked to him as the only person that could save us😂 (we won’t talk about the time Tom said pre-release to come back to his tweet a year later cause BF 2042 was going to be huge😅😂)

Anyways, I hope the community doesn’t hype this game up like they did with 2042. I certainly will not be preordering and will be looking at reviews closely before purchasing. Hope everyone else does the same to be honest.

Same here… I got all my friends to buy the game and they left me high and dry once they found out how buggy it was. With this recent news, I’ve slowly got them to come back to it.

every Youtuber was saying it was going to set new standards for the franchise after beta testing it, only to disavow their own reviews/videos when it came out - thankfully I think the community has more than learned its lesson

EA really needs to keep expectations critically and commercially for this game but should act it'll be a "dissapointment" if it does not do 90+ MC and doesn't that do much better commercially better Vs 2042 or BFV (latter did under a million Vs expectations) and end up over-reacting and killing the game's support by gutting seasonal content. If they have to push out of a crazy Q4 2025 featuring GTA VI and others, push it to late March 2026 or even May timeframe and add more content day 1 for the MP + giving that post-launch lineup with a clear release cadence.
