You probably know that real money online casinos aren’t yet legal in Ohio, but did you know you can play your favorite casino-style games at online social and sweepstakes casinos?
These sites offer many of the same games as real money online casinos, and you can use them for free without the need to spend any of your own money.
How can you play online casino games for free?
Instead of real cash, sweepstakes casinos use virtual tokens commonly known as Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC), and they usually give players free coins as incentives to register and keep playing.
Better still, you can redeem your SC for real cash prizes!
Keep reading to learn more about the online sweepstakes casinos legally operating in Ohio, how you can claim free no deposit bonuses, and how you can turn your coins into cash.

Pulsz Bingo Ohio No Deposit Bonus
Like their name suggests, the focus at Pulsz Bingo is bingo, with multiple rooms available either for free or a small entry fee.

Funrize Casino Ohio No Deposit Bonus
The Funrize welcome bonus doesn’t include any Promotional Entries, their version of SC, but new players will get 125,000 free GC after registration.
That might be one of the reasons they don’t have the best user ratings.
To get free SC, you’ll have to buy coins at a discounted welcome price of $19.99, or you can also refer a friend and spin the Funrize Wheel for daily prizes.
They frequently have promos like personalized deals, races, giveaways, and seasonal offers that can also score you extra coins, and joining the Funrize Club will give you access to exclusive deals, discounts, and special rewards.

Types Of No Deposit Bonuses In Ohio
Social and Sweepstakes online casinos brand themselves as being free to play, meaning users aren’t obligated to spend any of their real money to enjoy their games.
You can always buy coin packages if you want to extend your gameplay, but you should be able to play a few games with the free tokens you win through different methods.
No Deposit Signup Bonus
Welcome bonuses are the most common type of no deposit bonus given out by casinos, and all of the casinos listed above offer some sort of welcome bonus for new players.
These bonuses are used to incentivize new users who have never had an account to sign up.
The main advantage is you can use the free coins to try out the site before committing to purchasing coins for real money.
Usually made up of both GC and SC, these bonuses are generally deposited into your account as soon as your registration is complete.
Though some casinos offer the chance to boost your welcome bonus by taking extra steps like activating email and SMS notifications.
It’s important to remember that some casinos restrict the games users can play with free tokens, keeping certain titles locked for premium users, meaning those who make purchases.
No Deposit Daily Login Bonus
If you’re a casual player and don’t want to spend any of your cash buying coin packages, then daily login bonuses are a great way to get some free tokens in your account.
Most casinos have some sort of daily login bonus, and some even go the extra mile by making their login bonuses progressive, meaning the more consecutive days you log in, the more coins you can claim.
All of the casinos listed above offer some sort of daily login bonus, whether as a direct credit, jackpots, or wheels you can spin.
No Deposit Referral Bonus
You can claim referral bonuses when your friends use your personalized link to open a new account with any of the online casinos listed above.
Although these kinds of bonuses might be harder to come by, they usually offer a proportional reward for your efforts.
Many casinos will also reward your friend with an extra bonus.
But keep in mind that sometimes your friend also has to make a purchase before you receive your reward– simply signing up isn’t always enough.
As always, read the Terms & Conditions carefully first so you’re clear on what you and your referral need to do for the bonuses to be applied.
No Deposit Bonuses At Ohio Land-Based Casinos
You’re much more likely to get a no deposit bonus at an online casino than a land-based one, but even physical casinos offer their patrons good deals just for showing up.
The Hard Rock in Cincinnati is offering $10 in credits to new players who sign up for a free Player’s Card. They will also give you back up to $200 in losses on bets placed the first day that you use your card.
Players who join clubJACK, available at JACK locations in Cleveland and Thistledown, can participate for the chance to win up to $100,000 in cash prizes!
Become a PENN Player member for free for your chance to participate in exclusive draws, giveaways, and promotions at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo and Columbus, and the racinos in Dayton and Mahoning Valley.
Join the MGM Rewards program next time you visit MGM Northfield Park for the chance to win one of their giveaways, free casino credits, and lots more.
Eldorado Gaming at Scioto Downs uses the Caesars Rewards program, which gifts members with free credits, jackpots, giveaways, and more.
Join the respective rewards programs at the Miami Valley Gaming in Lebanon and Belterra Park in Cincinnati for special offers, and make sure you ask about their promotions.
How To Get The Biggest No Deposit Bonus In Ohio
Right now, the biggest no deposit bonus you can get from an online social or sweepstakes casino in Ohio is Stake.US’s welcome bonus of $55 Stake Cash & 260K Gold Coins.
The signup bonus from Fortune Coins comes at a close second with $43 and 1.25 million Gold Coins, which rise significantly if you make a purchase.
Most casinos make it very simple to sign up and claim your welcome bonus, though some of them require users to verify their accounts with a valid phone number or address before registration can be complete.
Those casinos won’t give you your bonus coins until your account is verified, so make sure you have all the necessary information on hand before you start your signup process.
How To Redeem An Ohio No Deposit Bonus For Real Money
Once you’ve signed up, claimed your bonuses, and started playing your SC, you can start thinking about redeeming your tokens for real cash prizes.
But not all casinos have the same redemption process.
They all have a minimum amount of SC that you need to accumulate before you can redeem them for cash or gift cards, so make sure you check their specific requirements first.
High 5, for example, requires at least 50 SC to redeem a gift card and 100 SC for a cash transfer, while Pulsz has a low threshold of just 10 SC to redeem a gift card.
Each casino will also have a minimum playthrough that you need to complete before your SC are eligible for redemption, meaning you need to play your free SC a certain number of times before you can cash them in.
Wow Vegas has a low 1x playthrough requirement while Stake.US needs players to play their SC through 3x before they can be redeemed.
As always, read the fine print and the T&C before you make purchases and before you start playing so you know exactly what you can and can’t do with your free bonus coins.
