Non-sticky bonuses are a type of welcome offer available exclusively to new players at Real Money Online Casinos.
These are popular, but extremely rare to come by.
Whether or not an bonus is sticky or non-sticky is entirely dependent on each casino’s terms and conditions.
This page will provide insight into exactly how these work, as well as which site’s will allow you to kickstart your play with a non-sticky bonus.

What Is A Non-Sticky Bonus?
A non-sticky bonus is a variation of the traditional welcome bonus that you typically receive at an Online Casino.
You may also hear these being referred to as ‘parachute’ or ‘lifeline’ bonuses.
Put simply, claiming a non-sticky bonus will mean that your deposited funds are completely separate from your bonus funds.
So even if you have a bonus in your account balance, you are still free to play with your own money first.
If an casino’s terms and conditions state that either part or all of the welcome offer is non-sticky, you can claim the bonus but begin playing using your deposited balance first.
Any winnings that you achieve from playing solely with this deposited balance are not subject to the wagering requirements that apply to bonus funds.
For example, let’s say that you sign up to an Online Casino and you received a deposit match offer of $1,000.
You deposit $100 and you claim the bonus of $100, bringing you to a total of $200.
You place a $50 bet on blackjack using your deposited funds and you go on to win $200.
Thanks to your non-sticky bonus, you are free to withdraw that $200.
If you had this $50 bet using your bonus funds, you would have to complete the wagering requirements before you could withdraw your $200 winnings.
Why Are Non-Sticky Bonuses Popular?
You are much less restricted as a player with a non-sticky bonus because there are zero restrictions and more flexibility on your deposited funds.
This gives you the chance to use this balance first and have something to fall back on if you lose.
Hence the alternative name, ‘lifeline’ bonus.
Better yet, you may win and have something to withdraw before even touching your bonus.
As mentioned above, if you win $200 through a $50 wager on blackjack, you can withdraw this without having to adhere to any wagering requirements.
What Is A Forfeitable Non-Sticky Bonus?
A forfeitable non-sticky bonus operates in the similar way to a standard non-sticky bonus which separates your deposited funds from your bonus.
However, you will also need to meet the minimum wagering requirements of the bonus before you can withdraw any potential winnings gained from your deposit.
If you deposit $50 and you receive a bonus of $50, you’ll have a starting balance of $100.
This bonus has a 10x wagering requirement attached to it.
You play with your initial $50 deposit, you win and you want to withdraw your winnings immediately before getting to your bonus.
With a forfeitable non-sticky bonus, you can cash out these winnings but you will ‘forfeit’ your bonus in doing so.
If you happen to lose your $50 deposit, you can still fall back on your $50 bonus.
To withdraw any winnings gained from this bonus, you will then have to playthrough it 10x.
The Difference Between Sticky and Non-Sticky Bonuses
You will be on the look out for non-sticky bonuses when registering at a new casino.
The sticky variation is the most common one that you will find.
Essentially, sticky bonuses mean that both your deposit and your bonus are ‘stuck’ together.
You can play your bonus as normal, but you will not have the option to withdraw any winnings at all until you’ve honored the wagering requirements.
You create an account at a US Real Money Casino and you get a deposit match offer of up to $1,500.
You deposit $100 and receive a $100 bonus, leaving you with a total of $200.
Using the blackjack example, you stake $50.
The casino may take $25 from your deposit and $25 from your bonus because both are stuck together.
From there, you go on to win $75.
You will need to complete the specific wagering requirements of this sticky bonus in order for you to withdraw.
If you only want to play with your deposit, you will need to make that you don’t have any other deposit in your account balance.
In comparison, your deposit and bonus funds will be separate with a non-sticky bonus.

How to Withdraw Your Non-Sticky Bonus
When playing with a non-sticky bonus, it is important to remember that you will still need to complete some wagering requirements.
However, the main difference here is that requirements only apply to any winnings gained from your bonus.
Your deposited funds are excluded from these.
Regardless of the bonus type, you must adhere to each platform’s terms of service.
Certain Online Casinos will require you to be a resident on a specific state in order to play.
You will need to confirm this by checking yourself, but most often include New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Michigan.
As well as this, you must be of legal age, either 18 or 21, to play at a Real Money Online Casino.
Majority of sites will require you to confirm both your age and residential address using a form of government-issued ID.
