Video Game Museum Reveals Call of Duty Live Player Numbers For The First Time in Years

A new museum in Malaga, Spain named the OXO Museo has revealed actual player numbers for Call of Duty for the first time in years.

An image sent to Insider Gaming by FlexZ, who attended the grand opening of the OXO Museo yesterday shows the live player numbers for Warzone 2.0, Modern Warfare 2, and Call of Duty Mobile.

At the time of the image (7PM GMT), it appears that 424,000 people were playing Warzone 2, 184,000 were playing Modern Warfare 2, and 406,000 playing COD Mobile. A total of 1,104,383 people were playing Call of Duty across all of its titles. Not bad for a series that many call “dead”.

As for how accurate the numbers are, museum staff allegedly told attendees that they received permission from Activision to display the live Call of Duty numbers. Insider Gaming has reached out to Activision for comment but has not yet received a reply.

Earlier this month, rumors began to circulate that Warzone 2’s player numbers had dropped at a higher rate than expected, which the community said was due to the huge changes the game made from the original.

Activision seems to be rectifying the changes though and will be making huge changes to Warzone 2 in Season 2 which releases February 15. Changes include The Gulag, Loadouts, the economy, Movements, Vests, Backpacks, and more.
